We are proud to present our latest release ‘Never Look Back’ – a disco anthem celebrating a world where people are free to be who they are, created by Rainbow Riot’s founder Petter Wallenberg and India’s first openly lesbian singer Pragya Pallavi.
The music video is also a touching short documentary film about one of the dancers in the project, Paras, a member of Dancing Queens, India’s first transgender dance group.
Paras is from India’s Hijra community – the Indian transgenders who have long been considered to have divine powers yet are still marginalized. In the film we follow Paras on her journey from the slums of Mumbai, overcoming sex work and begging – to becoming the first transgender person in India to get a job in a bank. As Paras says: ”India is changing.”
