Rainbow Riots Festival

Rainbow Riots Festival is our public event with live concerts, seminars, exhibitions and workshops about LGBT issues around the world. It is the world’s first LGBT festival with a ’world’ theme, highlighting change-makers from different countries and cultures to build bridges between the many rainbow communities of the world. Rainbow Riots Festival is where queer artists from countries like Uganda, Malawi and India, where it is illegal or controversial to be LGBT, have headlined an international Pride stage for the first time in history.

Since 2017 Rainbow Riots Festival has taken place in Stockholm and Gothenburg, Sweden, Kampala, Uganda, and Mumbai, India, in collaboration with EuroPride, Stockholm Pride and other public events, reaching audiences of more than 50 000 people. The events have received coverage in LGBT media around the world, with news outlets like Washington Blade (US) dubbing it ”Uganda’s secret Pride celebration” and TV4 (Sweden) calling it a “historic show”.
